Green Measurements for Software Product Based on Sustainability Dimensions

Software is a central component in the modern world and vastly affects environment’s sustainability. The demand for energy resource requirements rising when producing hardware software units. Literature study reveals that many studies focused on green hardware; however, limited efforts were made greenness of products. Green products are necessary to solve issues problems related long-term use software, especially from sustainability perspective. Without proper mechanism measuring particular product executed specific environment, mentioned benefits will not be attained. Currently, there enough works address this problem, status uncertain unsure. This paper aims identify measurements based sustainable dimensions product. second objective reveal relationships between elements through empirical study. conducted two phases. first phase theoretical phase, where main components, practices influence identified. involved 103 respondents Malaysia investigating current industrial environment further identifying their impact achieving has revealed seven product: Productivity, Usability, Cost Reduction, Employee Support, Energy Efficiency, Resource Efficiency Tool Support. statistically significant, with significance level less than 0.01 (p = 0.000).
